OTTAWA - Peter Stoffer, M.P. (Sackville-Eastern Shore) will hold a joint-press conference on Thursday February 24th at 12:30pm in the Charles Lynch Press Studio 130-S Center Block, House of Commons.

Representatives from Families for Early Autism Treatment (FEAT) will join Peter Stoffer, M.P. to call upon the federal government to take measures to end the health care discrimination against children with autism and to incorporate autism treatment within Canada's medicare system.

Peter Stoffer will be accepting a petition from FEAT for presentation to Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh and Prime Minister Paul Martin.

In attendance with Peter Stoffer, MP will be:

  • Andrew Kavchak - Father of autistic child Steven, an autism advocate and member of FEAT of Ontario (Families for Early Autism Treatment)

  • Laurel Gibbons - Mother of autistic child, Robbie, sharing the realities regarding the treatment of autism.

  • Josh Bortolotti - 10 year old brother to Sophia and one of Canada's youth autistic advocates.
