Brain Trauma HURTS Forever

It can happen to anyone. It affects everyone

Each year, more than sixteen thousand Ontario residents sustain a traumatic brain injury; these injuries occur most often, as a result of motor vehicle collisions, work-related injury, or leisure activities.

In many cases, the effects of the injury do not end at the hospital emergency room. They may result in permanent cognitive, physical, emotional-behavioural, and/or psychosocial deficits that will affect not only the individual, but his or her family, friends and community.

People living with the effects of brain injury often find they need help dealing with the changes in their lives that such an injury brings. If you would like further information, please contact BIAN, the Brain Injury Association of Nipissing.
