Reach For The Rainbow

By walls I am protected / the kind you cannot see
Barriers of thoughts and emotions / that hide the real me
Bricks of pain and sorrow / disguise my outer charm
Built them for security / to keep me safe from harm

Today I'm their prisoner
locked away here alone
The real person inside of me
is not the one I show

I've lived with ancient voices / many times they tore me apart
Now I heal myself with loving words / to mend my wounded heart
Who can ever rescue me / not knowing what is wrong
They can't see my problem / I've hidden it so long.

Today I'm their prisoner
locked away here alone
The real person inside of me
is not the one I show

Walked through the darkest canyons / lost sight of the sky
No moon, no stars to guide me / somehow I got by
I can make my life / what ever I want it to be
There's a piece of rainbow / waiting there for me.

I'm going to reach for that rainbow / reach through the rain
Reach for that rainbow / reach past the pain
I'm going to reach for that rainbow / reach past the pain.
