| The number of charities
in Canada is always increasing. Due to the decline in government support,
organizations are turning to the corporate sector. The Ontario Brain
Injury Association and local community associations such as BIAN are
some of the many charities reliant on your donations in order to remain
vital and active.
In order to continue the development of support services and the promotion of education, research, prevention and quality care for persons with acquired brain injury, the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) and BIAN need you as a partner. You can help
OBIA and BIAN improve the quality of life for people living with the
effects of brain injury, their family and friends by:
For more information, please contact: BIAN or call OBIA Toll free at 1-800-253-5404 OBIA, the provincial association, is involved in nearly 200 brain injury related projects from fund raising to advocacy, promoting opportunities for growth for people living with the effects of acquired brain injury. BIAN, the local association, is involved in the following safety programs:
The provincial association, OBIA, has a diversified funding base. This includes a small but significant contribution from the Government of Ontario; provincial funding accounts for less than 15% of the financial assistance necessary to carry out critical support services. OBIA has been running golf tournaments for the last 8 years with great success in raising funds as well as raising awareness. We have been fortunate to have support from such celebrities as Darryl Sittler, Dennis Hull, Ron Ellis, Mario and Michael Andretti, Jim Ralph and Bob Lalonde. OBIA is dedicated to: the development and implementation of special events; the creation and identification of new fund raising and awareness opportunities; the development and delivery of a desired public profile negotiating advertising, sponsorship and endorsements. BIAN receives no government funding, does NOT receive any benefit from the sale of Nevada Break Open Tickets (profits go solely to the provincial association), and does not actively solicit donations. We charge no membership dues nor fees for any service provided. Donations to BIAN would be greatly appreciated. In Memoriams contributions can be made through McGuinty Funeral Home in North Bay. |
