How to Change your Internet Account Name

Question:
"When I print my e-mail, Outlook Express prints a header with my name underlined in bold type. I want to change the name being printed, and have looked for a way of doing this for months now without any success. I've even checked a number of Outlook books from the library. I've checked Tools, Forms, and everywhere else I can think of looking, with no luck. Can you tell me how to change this?"

Answer:

The name that appears at the top of your printed emails is also the identity that is attached to every email you send. If you change the name that appears on your printed mail, people receiving email from you will receive it with the new name as well.

You need to change your account name.

To do this, open Outlook Express and single-click the <Tools> menu with the left mouse key. When the menu opens, single-click on the <Accounts> option.

The <Internet Accounts> window opens. Single-click on your mail account (there's probably only one account listed), and then single-click on <Properties>.

The <Mail Account Properties> window opens.

Under the <General> tab, you'll see a list of user information including a box for your name.

Type in a different name in this box.

Now single-click on <Apply>, and then single-click again on <OK>.

This takes you back to the <Internet Accounts> window.

Single-click on the <Close> button to finish.

The new name you typed in will now appear on both the emails you send to others, and the emails you print out.
