& Answers (Q & A) Question: Answer: Why does it do this? The crash may have messed up your settings. <Safe Mode> starts with all of Window's default settings, allowing you to go in to fix any problems that occurred. What does this mean for the average computer user? Not much. When you're in <Safe Mode> just close down the computer as you usually would, and then restart it again. This usually takes care of whatever the problem is, as it gives the computer a chance to reset itself. If your computer goes into <Safe Mode> every time you start it up, it's an indication that there's a real problem. In that situation, my advice would be to get it to a technician for a check up.
