Are you on Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program?
On Dec. 15th, the Liberal Government announced new changes to OW/ODSP rules. The Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC), which is a province-wide legal clinic specializing in anti-poverty issues, has created a fact sheet that explains the new rules so you're aware of what you're entitled to or how the changes might impact you. If you feel any of the changes impact you, please contact your worker or a community agency or legal clinic in your area for more information. Access the fact sheet: http://www.incomesecurity.org/index.html (under the section titled "New OW/ODSP Rules") Also available are fact sheets on social assistance and the minimum wage. Both have been recently updated to reflect the 3% increase to social assistance rates that comes into effect in March and the recent 30 cent increase to the minimum wage. Access
