Leader: The Right Hon. Paul Martin
Will allow a free vote when gay marriage legislation reaches the
House of Commons for a vote next year, but asked the Supreme Court
to postpone until this fall a hearing on whether draft legislation
allowing gays and lesbians to wed is constitutional.

the majority of Bloc MPs are in favour of allowing same-sex
couples to wed, leader Gilles Duceppe has announced that the

Stephen Harper
Will withdraw the federal reference to the Supreme Court on
same-sex marriage and allow a free vote in Parliament on the
issue.
