Dear Prime Minister:
I ask you to hear
the growing list of Canadians
requesting that you clearly and publicly condemn
the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in
China when you meet with Jiang Zemin, the President
of China, during the APEC Summit in October 2002.
We would particularly
draw your attention to the 12
new Canadians whose family members are currently
imprisoned in Chinese forced labor camps for their
belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance."
By raising the issue
of these 12 known cases in China,
you can help send a strong message to President Jiang
that this persecution is witnessed by the international
community and that Canada does not tolerate such
brutality against Canadians or any other citizens.
Your intervention through this visit will give hope
to many both in Canada and China and will contribute
significantly towards ending this persecution.
Canada has succeeded
in the rescue of three Falun Gong
practitioners from China in the last two years. It is
important that we continue to send a clear message to
the President of China that the persecution must stop!
Sincerely,
Your name
