International Women's Day provides us with the opportunity to reflect and assess how we can make a difference in the lives of women
who face multiple levels of discrimination due to the
intersectionality of race, disability, language, and religion.

The Canadian theme for International Women's Week 2006 is "Beyond Laws: The Right to be Me'',
which addresses women's rights, women's diversity
and the need to put words into action.
