10 Reasons Why You
Cannot Trust the Liberals
1. Ontario Liberals
support the Conservatives' plan for electricity retail market competition
and deregulation.
2. Ontario Liberals
support the Conservatives' plan to sell off publicly-owned electricity
generating stations.
3. Ontario Liberals, like the Conservatives, refuse to commit to
an immediate increase of the minimum wage to $7.50.
4. Until the
by-election, the Ontario Liberals were completely silent on saving
the Ontario Northlands Railway. Although invited, they didn't even
ride the Survival Express in April 2001.
5. Ontario Liberals
and Conservatives both refuse to oppose all shipment of PCBs to
Northern Ontario.
6. Ontario Liberals
and Conservatives both oppose banning the use of strike-breakers.
7. In 1992 Dalton
McGuinty introduced legislation to ban the right to strike for teachers,
except in summer. Now he says he's changed his mind. What does he
really believe?
8. The federal
Liberals and the Ontario Conservatives have both failed to provide
adequate funding for Medicare and have both slashed funding to colleges
and universities.
9. The Ontario
Liberals refuse to commit to eliminating Mike Harris' tax breaks
for the wealthiest people in Ontario.
10. Dalton McGuinty
is trying to have it both ways on private school funding. "The
Liberal leader now says money for religion-based educational institutions
should be made available, just not right away." (NOW Magazine,
May 24, 2001)
THE
RECORD IS CLEAR - THE LIBERALS AGREE WITH THE CONSERVATIVES ON MOST
MAJOR ISSUES.
