Call on the
Prime Minister

and the
Liberal Gov't of Canada
to
eliminate the GST
on feminine protection products.

'Stamp on the tax!'

Pull the plug.

End this tax on womanhood.

Women pay $350 in GST for being women.

Feminine protection is an $840 million a year industry.

Women pay $60 million a year in GST to the federal liberal government, $25 million of it from Ontario women.

From puberty to menopause, a woman will spend $5,000 on feminine protection products. A woman has 500 periods in her lifetime and uses 15,000 sanitary pads or tampons.

A tax on these products is a discriminatory tax and a tax on being a woman.

People are generally silent on the topic of menstruation even though it’s an issue central to womanhood and family life.

Only we can stop this money grab.

The NDP says stamp on the tax! Period.

Eliminate the GST on pads, tampons, sponges and cups

Call on Ottawa to pull the plug on the tamp' tax.

Message Dear Prime Minister:

I call on you to end the GST on feminine protection products. Canadian women pay close to $60 million a year in GST on these essential products. You have an obligation to recognize these exclusively female products as absolute necessities and abolish the GST that was wrongly placed on them.

There is no place in Canada for such a discriminatory gender tax. Simply put, it is a tax on being a woman. In the course of her life, a girl will spend no less than $350 in GST just for being female. I urge you to abolish this unfair and offensive sales tax on the most important function of womanhood and family life.
