About
the Women with disAbilities Discussion List We are comprised of Women representing a diversity of disAbilities and backgrounds from different regions, provinces and countries. We ask that you RESPECT each other...when you give respect you gain respect Please, No Spam and No Advertisements... No vulgar and obscene language, No deliberate slander toward other members...simply put, attempt to do no harm and assume GOODWILL. The List was created as an initiative of DAWN (DisAbled Women's Network) Ontario, a cross-disability organization working towards access, equity, and full participation of Women with disAbilities through public education, coalition-building, self-advocacy and resource development. DAWN Ontario maintains a website at http://dawn.thot.net to provide information to Women with disAbilities on different areas of focus. Text-based version at http://dawn.thot.net/text Recognizing the value of online communities, DAWN Ontario is seeking to help build such a Community for Women with disAbilities, including advocates, activists and self-advocates. Part of our
Action Plan for 2001 will be to use the Internet to assist in building
communities for self-advocates, along with re-developing our
website to provide accurate and accessible information that will
benefit the diversity of Women with disAbilities that we serve.

please contact the Women

. What
is the preferred format for posting messages to the list? It is helpful (but optional) to all participants if your name and email address is included at the bottom of your message. That way, people can reply directly to you if desired. Please do not use a long signature file. Please make sure to indicate the discussion topic in the subject line (header) to your email message. It helps everyone keep track of the original thread of conversation. Avoid copying the entire original message to which you are responding to ensure that posts are not unnecessarily long. If you use the Reply to Sender function to post to the list, please delete the original message, leaving only the section that is relevant to your post. Please note that attachment files will be rejected by the List. To upload a file that will be available to participants, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DAWN-Ontario -- follow the link from the left navigation menu called FILES -- from here, you may upload a file(s). What
is the difference between individual vs. digest format? If you would
like to receive all of the messages in one big e-mail at the end
of the day, change your subscription to digest format. How to
do this:
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DAWN-Ontario
Go to Top of Page To change your delivery options, go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DAWN-Ontario -- follow the link from the right hand side of the page below Membership entitled Delivery Options... and change your settings to no email. When you are ready to receive emails again, follow the above step again, and choose the daily email or the digest mode.
