A Women’s Gathering In Honour of Lyallen Hayes

Minwaashin Lodge, the Aboriginal Women’s Support Centre is hosting a Women’s Gathering in a country setting just 40 minutes from Ottawa.

The gathering will begin on Friday, August 4th (evening), Saturday, August 5th and end on Sunday, August 6th, 2006.

All women (aged 16 and over) are invited to join us in a two-day healing weekend, featuring traditional Native teachings, as well as women’s teachings from around the world.

We have chosen “Truth Survives” as our theme because the truth of women’s power as healers and keepers of our traditions will never be destroyed. This will be a camping weekend in the country not far from Ottawa. Come and share your gifts as a healer or learn from others. Allow yourself the opportunity to take part in:

Drumming
Dance
Women’s Medicine
Traditions
Stories
Song
Herbal Remedies
Sweat Lodge Ceremonies
Sun Rise Ceremonies
Pipe Ceremonies
Grandmothers’ and Elders’ Teaching

The cost is $85.00 prepaid by cheque, which includes camping and all your food.

We ask each woman to contribute to the Gathering by offering to volunteer some of her time. We need you for Security, Elders’ Helper, Mother Earth Keeper, Sacred Fire Keeper, Sweat Lodge Helper / Fire Keeper, Kitchen Helper, Registration, Take Down Helper and Floater. All women are also required to supply their own tea towel bundle (non-disposable cutlery, dishes, cups, tea towel).
